Today, Mexico is in the 12th place in the world food production.
The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), in order to place Mexico’s agrifood products as an international benchmark for business, momentum and knowledge of the sector. the first edition of the Expo Mexico Alimentaria Food Show.
This first edition was hosted by the CitiBanamex Center in Mexico City from December 8 to 10, which was the most important meeting point in Mexico and Latin America for producers, buyers, technology developers, investors, entrepreneurs, university students and the general public who knew the development opportunities offered by the Mexican countryside.
This fair is equal to those made in Japan and the United States, it was estimated the participation of 50 thousand visitors, throughout the event, an ideal opportunity to demonstrate to the world the Mexican agri-food power; counted on stands of agriculture, livestock, rural development and also with products of fishing and aquaculture, subject in which Mexico, is the 17th fishing producer worldwide.
Likewise, the Expo served as a space to reflect on the real and potential value of the primary sector, as well as being a site for the whole family, with different types of activities that promised to have a degree of awareness for the general public.
