Mexico proves productive potential at Expo Agroalimentaria

MEXICO ,2017Today the field of Mexico is shown with greater confidence and projects what we are through its growth and positive results, which speak of a direction and an integral vision among producers, agribusiness and Government of the Republic.

This was stated by the undersecretary of Agriculture, Jorge Narváez Narváez, who with the representation of the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA), José Calzada Rovirosa, announced the launch of the fair “Mexico Agroalimentaria Food Show 2017” .

Before representatives of the agri-food production chain, legislators and authorities of the three orders of government, Narváez Narváez said that public-private partnerships strengthen the implementation of public policies and actions in favor of the agricultural and fishery sector, which is part of this new era of the Mexican countryside.

He informed that the fair Agroalimentaria 2017 will be held from December 7 to 9 and will aim to put Mexico in a prominent place on a global level, as well as a space to reflect on the potential and real value of the national primary sector, which it has to be consolidated even more with organization and in unity of all its actors.

Alejandro Vázquez Salido, the head of the Agency for Services for Marketing and Development of Agricultural Markets (ASERCA), explained that with an extension of 44 thousand meters this fair will be in line with those made in Japan or The United States, and is expected to attend 60,000 people.

In addition, it is estimated that around 170 buyers and suppliers from more than 50 countries participate and the participation of 80 national companies to realize sales for more than 18 billion pesos, so that this expo is consolidated as a benchmark at the national level and international, he said.

In turn, the president of the National Agricultural Council (CNA), Bosco de la Vega Valladolid, stressed that the Agro-food sector is good news carrier and shows a climate of coordination between producers and the Government of Mexico, in addition to the Expo is a good option to make known to the world its agricultural, fishing and forestry potential.

He acknowledged that much remains to be done in the countryside to reduce the inequality gap, but it is a fact that has taken the right path to achieve better progress and development in the Mexican rural sector.

The Expo Agroalimentaria 2016 managed to complete three thousand 221 business meetings

SAGARPA authorities reported that in the First Edition of the Mexico Alimentaria Food Show 2016 was attended by more than 130 buyers from 32 countries, with whom business connections were promoted with Mexican producers and agribusiness.

It was that opportunity, in three days (from December 8 to 10 of that year) sales were reached for more than 16 billion pesos, attracting 56 thousand visitors, 722 national exhibitors and a total of 3,221 meetings business with national and international companies.
